Product Description

Balanced Metal O-Ring seals are high-strength metallic tubes developed for use in harsh working conditions. These are Self-Energized (Vented) seals featuring small holes or slots vented toward the high-pressure side that allow system pressure to enter the tube, forcing the seal walls against the flange with a strength proportional to the internal pressure.

Sealing Principle: The sealing principle relies on the controlled axial compression of the metallic tube between parallel mating surfaces, combined with pressure energization. This compression generates a high-unit contact load at the sealing line, causing the seal (or its soft outer plating) to flow into and fill microscopic surface imperfections in the mating hardware.

Balanced Metal O-Ring Seal is a preferable choice if the pressure from the inner or outer medium is relatively high, as the vented design allows system pressure to enhance sealing performance.
