In 2022, in response to a series of challenges faced by the sealing of key parts of Stirling refrigerators, such as cold and hot cycles, ultra-low leakage requirements, high reliability, and limited installation space, Shanggu's engineering team broke through the process difficulty of high-quality tin plating on the inner opening metal C-ring, significantly improving the product's resilience. This solution is particularly suitable for addressing the sealing requirements of some aluminum flanges.
After a series of rigorous tests, the results showed that the sealing scheme not only achieved a sealing effect beyond expectations, but also ensured high reliability sealing.
Application Challenge
Due to limited installation space, the flange material is usually soft (usually aluminum alloy), and helium gas, as a special sealing medium and working condition of cold and hot cycles, poses great challenges to the sealing of Stirling refrigerators. Specifically, it includes:
·Working temperature: The sealing component needs to maintain its sealing performance during cold and hot cycles from -55 ℃ to 130 ℃;·Leakage rate requirement: It must be ensured that the leakage rate is below 1 × 10-10 Pa · m3/s;
·High reliability requirement: requires long-term stable operation and the ability to withstand cyclic vibration tests.
Application Effect
The sealing effect exceeded expectations
After testing, with the application of Sonkit sealing solution, the sealing ring can achieve long-term reliable and effective sealing in environments with limited installation space and locking force under cold and hot cycles and high and low frequency vibrations for a long time. And the leakage rate of the system has been reduced to 1×10-12 Pa·m3/s, far exceeding the initial requirement of 1×10-10 Pa·m3/s, and the sealing effect has far exceeded expectations.
High reliability
Compared to the early use of traditional lead wire and indium wire sealing ring fillers in Stirling refrigerators, tin plated metal C-type sealing rings have significantly improved product resilience. For long-term cold and hot cycling environments, helium special sealing medium, and high and low frequency vibration conditions, this sealing ring achieves long-term high reliability and effective sealing.
